Quality Assurance Technician-2nd Shift

Job Description: 

Freshline Produce LLC., a premium fresh fruit and vegetable processor based in Mahwah, NJ, is seeking a talented Quality Assurance Technician, for its 2nd shift, to join its fast growing organization. As QA Tech, he/she will assure consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing good automated manufacturing practice (GAMP) systems, validating processes, providing documentation, and managing staff.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Incoming Raw Materials/ Inspection/ Inform QA Manager and Operations Manager if there are quality issues. Fill out Receiving Log
  • Inspect incoming green beans and fill out and share the Green Bean Inspection Report
  • Using BRIX Refractometer to perform test on incoming fruits. Fill out and share BRIX Report
  • First in First Out (FIFO) inventory management
  • Identify, label, date, and make a daily inventory list of all WIP products in the coolers
  • Production Line Quality Checks including product quality, case quality, Tsunami checks, Metal detector check and room temperature checks
  • Fill out Non-conforming form for products not in specification
  • Put Non-conforming products on Hold
  • Maintain Hold release log
  • Serve as member HACCP Team
  • Train employees
Requirements: 
  • Strong supervisory, communication, training and interpersonal skills
  • Very detail oriented
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is preferred
  • Experience in the food industry is a plus
  • Working knowledge of GMP and food safety regulations is a plus
  • Effective organizational skill; Able to manage priorities and complexities
  • Knowledge of processing machines
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
