Interested candidates should work well in a flat and fluid organization, and excel at communicating with individuals across a diverse range of disciplines. You will work directly with our Director of Product and Operations, Ingredient Procurement Manager, CEO, vendor partners and manufacturing facilities to ensure and manage Food Safety from the ingredient level all the way to our customer’s doorstep. You can expect to make a direct and measurable impact of the business from day one by developing, driving and continually improving food safety systems in conjunction with the quality systems and programs. This is a Full Time position based in our NYC HQ, with regular travel for site visits.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage, develop and implement Food Safety program.
  • Drive investigation with a focus on root cause identification, working with departments on preventative actions.
  • Maintenance of all partners with set certifications, regulations, sanitation, specifications, environmental microbiology program, GMPs, etc. are sustaining Daily Harvest standard.
  • Work with Customer Service and Product teams to manage and resolve consumer complaints, and communicating all findings to senior management.
  • Establish, implement and maintain appropriate controls related to expense management; make budgetary decisions that are fiscally responsible.
Requirements: 
  • At least 3 years of experience in food safety related to manufacturing, or distribution.
  • 3 years of working management or supervisory experience within Food Safety and Quality Systems.
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and laboratory skills.
  • Working knowledge of Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards. Internal, or lead auditor certification (SQF II or III, FSSC22000, BRC) a plus!
  • Ideally has experience in CPG and frozen supply chain.
