This position will lead Food Safety and Quality programs at designated fresh bakery facilities. This includes leading implementation and on-going program management/oversight of Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Certification, compliance to BBU corporate Quality Assurance / Food Safety requirements and other related initiatives.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Supervisor Sanitation department hourly employees providing direction and coaching regarding Sanitation, Production, Safety, GMP’s, and Quality Assurance.
  • Coordinate overall Sanitation department duties with Sanitation Manager.
  • Maintain chemical inventory control system.
  • Perform weekly inventories of sanitation chemicals and non-chemical supplies.
  • Insure effective cleanliness of equipment and facilities in all production areas.
  • Schedule work flow for plant sanitation functions on each shift.
  • Maintain good working relationship with all departments within the plant.
  • Maintain repair schedules on all sanitation equipment.
  • Facilitate and lead team meetings.
  • Promote good employee relations to maintain a positive working environment.
  • Establish a safe work environment, recognizing and considering all potential hazards.
  • Perform within environmental safety and GMP guidelines at all times,
  • Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system.
  • Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
  • Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits.
  • Actively Participate in Root Cause Problem Solving techniques
  • Participate in daily Huddle meetings
  • Bring forth any opportunity for improvement
  • Participate in Gemba walks
  • Display knowledge and understanding of OEE (overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  • Display knowledge and understanding of SMED
  • Display knowledge and understanding of 5s (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustaining)
  • Display an understanding of LSW
  • Associates degree in business or a food related field required.
  • Two years of experience in a supervisory capacity in an industrial setting required, preferably in Food Plant Sanitation.
  • Experience with FDA and/or USDA Rules and Regulations.
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Able to work with cross functional departments within the organization.
